Woolcotts Cross Cottage, available to let all year round, is in a stunning rural location, offering unrivalled access to the beauty of Exmoor National Park and overlooks Wimbleball Lake. This attractive barn has been recently converted to provide excellent, modern self-catering facilities and holiday accommodation for up to three guests, with up to two dogs welcome.
Perfect for Fly-fishing enthusiasts (day and week passes available), watersports enthusiasts, walkers, cyclists and bird watchers, it is ideally situated for exploring the grandeur of the Doone countryside.
Lovely coastal resorts, National Trust properties, golf and horse riding are all to be found nearby. The cottage is one mile from the village of Brompton Regis, where there is a good village shop and pub, with the attractive village of Dulverton nearby. The seaside town of Minehead is just 12 miles away, and the county town of Taunton approximately 20 miles.
Accommodation - prices and availability
Our bookings are from Friday to Friday and during off peak weeks short breaks are available starting on Friday and finishing on either Monday or Tuesday.

Prices range from £250-330 per week (low season), £350-495 per week (high season).

Two bedrooms - one double & one single; very attractive sitting room and dining area; wood burning stove; beautiful wood beamed ceilings; well equipped kitchen; bathroom / W.C. (shower over bath; garden with patio and furniture; parking.
The Local Area
Wimbleball lake is only 5 minutes walk from Woolcotts Cross. This scenic lake lies within Exmoor National Park and is surrounded by woodland and meadows. There is variety of activities on offer at the lake including watersports, angling and walking. In addition you will find an adventure playground for children and large areas of parkland suitable for family picnics and outdoor games. For walkers, there are miles of footpaths circling the lake and a small tea-room offering a variety of refreshments.
The established Angling and Watersports Centre at Wimbleball provides facilities for tuition in sailing, windsurfing and canoeing, along with rowing boats and equipment hire. The lake boasts a first class rainbow trout fishery, for which permits for bank and boat fly fishing can be obtained from the centre.

M5 Jcn 25 follow A358 towards Minehead. Turn right at Crosskeys pub. After 3½ miles you pass Bishops Lydeard and ½ mile later turn left onto B3224 signposted Wheddon Cross. After 9 miles turn left at Raleghs Cross Inn. After 2 miles take 2nd right for Brompton Regis (do not fork right to Wheddon Cross). After 2 miles cross bridge, road narrows. Turn right after 500 yards for Blagdon. The cottage is immediatelyon the right. Our house (pink) is another 50 yards up the lane.
