Triscombe Farm

Nestling in a sheltered wooded valley overlooking the River Quarme and surrounded by 190 acres of farmland, Triscombe offers peace and seclusion. It is ideally located for exploring this delightful, unspoilt area situated 1 mile from the village of Wheddon Cross, with its Post Office, Garage and ‘Rest & Be Thankful’ Inn.

The pretty cottages, a combination of 19th century cottages and skilful conversions from original farm buildings, cluster around a ‘T’ shaped courtyard in the style of a hamlet. Each one is individually designed, equipped and furnished to a high standard, with many personal touches for your comfort. Water is from our own natural spring (regularly tested). A stream cascades through the hillside gardens which cover about 5 acres, with a pretty stone pathway leading across to a tennis court. Wandering about the farm unfolds spectacular views over the valley towards Dunkery Beacon and there is often a good chance of seeing badgers, buzzards, foxes, deer, and an abundance of wildlife.

Exmoor National Park is a special place, an area of unspoilt and wild countryside, spectacular cliffs plunging to the sea, bustling market towns and peaceful villages with thatched cottages and ancient packhorse bridges. It is a land of heather covered moorland, steep wooded combes and swift flowing streams. Leisure pursuits include: walking; riding; fishing; touring; sailing; cycling; swimming; and golf. Taunton the county town is approximately 30 minutes drive away.

The cottages are available all year round for weekly and short-break holidays, and Triscombe makes an inspiring choice for an out of season break.

Road Directions

From M5 junction. Follow A358 (Taunton - Minehead road) opposite Cedar Falls turn left under railway bridge B3224 (signed Wheddon Cross), 1 mile after Raleghs Cross Inn fork right following all signs to Wheddon Cross. Turn left in village onto A396. Triscombe is signed 1 mile on the left hand side.

Public Transport Directions
