2010 Exmoor Explorer

Exmoor Explorer

This is not a race, it is a long distance off road reliability trial across Exmoor's challenging terrain which takes place in August every year.

The start, finish and tea stop change every year as does the set of routes. The course is unknown to you until a week before the event, when they will be published online with a map and route instructions.

There are two routes to choose from. The short route is about 25 miles long. The long route is about 35 miles long. They share the same paths on the first section so you can decide which route to take at any time up to the start of the longer route.

There are checkpoints along both routes for the benefit of both the riders and the organisers.

Last and definitely not least there is the famous tea stop somewhere along the route which serves hot and cold drinks with cake and flapjack. Take your time or use it as a quick pit stop - the choice is yours.

The start and finish this year is at Wheddon Cross.
• Route fully marked.
• Camping available on the start & finish field.
• Bike wash.
• This year is "Ladies Year". Reduced entry fee for lady riders, which will be given in it's entirety to the Breast Cancer Campaign.
• Free entry to the second rider on a tandem.
• Food available on Saturday night.
• Entries limited to 400 so enter in good time!
