Golden Horseshoe Ride Televised

BBC Television's Countryfile programme is planning to cover this year's Golden Horseshoe Ride over Exmoor, taking place on the 11-13th May 2008 starting at Exford.

Reporter Adam Henson is training to ride in one of the classes of this year's event. Adam is evidently an experienced rider, but has not subjected himself to this long in the saddle and never ridden over Exmoor before. Adam visited organiser Barbara Wigley to meet the horse he will be riding, a Welsh Cob called Windsor, owned by Lucy Allison, who runs Wannaroo Farm in Timberscombe.

Adam is planning to ride in the Exmoor Experience class, which covers 80K (50 miles) over two days, across Exmoor's breathtaking terrain. This will be televised on the BBC Countryfile programme. Other rides over the three days include, the gruelling 160 kilometre (100 miles) ride over two days.
