Exmoor's SUPERSIZED Marathon

Exmoor will be holding its very own marathon. The same weekend as the London Marathon. Stage 5 of the Endurancelife Coastal Trail Running Series will take place on Saturday 12th April, the event will start and finish at The Hunters Inn Pub, Parracombe, just a stone's throw from the North Devon Coastline.

The event is open to runners of all abilities over the age of 16 with three distance categories available; 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon.

The event will take in much of Exmoor's breathtaking coastline. The course crosses tracks of open moorland, runs alongside fast-flowing rivers and through ancient woodlands. There is no course in Britain that offers such a variety of terrain within such a compact area.

This is the last event in the Endurancelife Coastal Trail Series of the South West. The supersized topography of this course makes it arguably the most challenging of The Series, and as such a fitting finale. The event is the same weekend as The London Marathon, however the two events are a world apart in intimacy, beauty and difficulty.

Local man Michael Davis, from Taunton, is taking part in the Half Marathon and is currently in training for the Ironman 70.3 that takes place on Exmoor in June.

The Endurancelife Coastal Trail Series is a unique series that runs from October 2007 until April 2008. The series comprises of 5 stunning locations, all positioned along the rugged coastline of the South West of England and Wales; and each as inspiring and challenging as they are wild and diverse.
