Dedicated Tour support for Exmoor

Thanks to funding secured by Active Exmoor from Exmoor National Parks Sustainable Development Fund provided by DEFRA a new Tour of Britain Exmoor Project Assistant, is now in post until the Autumn.

Rachel Hayes, who will be based in Dulverton with Active Exmoor, said, 'There are only three months to go until the race and much to do in preparation. We need to maximise the benefits for local businesses and ensure that we're 100% ready for the race.'

Rachel will be working with local businesses, schools and the community to help maximise the benefits for Exmoor from this prestigious event. She will be organising a series of spin off events from the Tour in local villages and ensuring Exmoor receives maximum publicity through the event.

The race will be passing through Minehead, Porlock and Lynmouth on 11th September and thousands are expected to be lining the route.

If you have any ideas, would like to get involved or would just like to know more about the Tour itself, then please feel free to contact rachel@activeexmoor.com or call 0560 113 9000.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get Exmoor on the map and in front of a national audience.
