Antarctic explorers to give talk on Exmoor, Friday 12th October.

The first team to have reached Antarctica's Pole of
Inaccessibility by non-mechanical means are giving a
talk on their adventures on. Friday 12th October at
7pm at The Calvert Trust Exmoor Sports Hall.

The British and Canadian team raised over £25,000 for
Calvert Trust Exmoor, where they'll be showing some
amazing photographs of their kite skiing trip'
across the remote Eastern Antarctic Plateau.

Rory Sweet, Henry Cookson, Paul Landry and Rupert
Longsdon reached the exact centre of the Antarctic
continent in January by traditional man hauling
and kite skiing.

They travelled over 11 OOmiles over 49 days at
temperatures dropping to - 50oC. At times their kites
took them at a bone crunching 40 km/h dragging their
17 stone pulks (sleds) behind them.

We're delighted to invite you to hear Henry and Rupert
describe their epic journey to the remotest and
coldest point on the planet.

The talk is taking place at Calvert Trust Exmoor and
tickets are £8.00 to include a buffet supper and glass
of wine.
