Riding on Exmoor

Riding on Exmoor encompasses the dramatic open moorland, the river banks and crossings in the combes, the numerous woodlands and the picturesque villages, where it is always possible to find somewhere to stop for an ice cream during your ride. It is also the best way to get 'up close and personal' with the wild red deer, and Exmoor ponies out on the moor.

There are many places to stay if you bring your own horse, as well as several centres where you can enjoy an accompanied trek on a hired horse or pony.

There are several highlight in the Exmoor riding calendar, one of which is the Golden Horseshoe endurance ride held in May.
