Ride with us through the beauty of Exmoor's river valleys, sweeping moorland and rolling hills. The idyllic Doone Valley lies in one of the last official "truly tranquil areas" of Britain. Rides for all ages and abilities from an hour to a day, plus superb riding holidays, weekends and short breaks.
Miles of unspoilt countryside lie on the doorstep of our Doone Valley Trekking centre at Cloud Farm. The bridleways are excellent and there are no roads, making it easy and relaxing to ride through the idyllic landscape made legendary by the romantic novel, Lorna Doone. There is a wide variety of terrains; the gentle valley paths are grea for novices, the hills and moors perfect for experienced hacking. Once you've ridden here you will not want to ride anywhere else!
We cater for all levels of riding experience, and offer three levels of non-mixed ability rides: novice, semi-experienced and experienced. All rides are escorted unless otherwise asked. We have friendly horses and ponies for all ages. We can take tiny children on our tiny ponies and huge dads on our huge horses. We're open every day, all year round. Booking advised. Large parties gladly taken by prior arrangement.
And there is plenty to do here even if you're a non-rider. We have our own tearoom (serving breakfasts, lunches, snacks and teas), gardens, shop (food and provisions), off-licence, laundry and drying facilities. Kids can have a great time paddling, swimming and fishing in our river, and exploring the shady banks, woods, hills and rocks. We also have excellent ETC 4star s/c accommodation for riding holidays, weekends and short breaks.
Rides from one or two hours to a half or whole day.
