Advanced Riding Lessons |
12th October 2004 |
Professional tuition from International Rider This winter, a not to be missed opportunity for riders on Exmoor – as the Dutch born instructor, Yeb de Jong returns to host 4 days of advanced riding tuition at the Calvert Trust’s Indoor Arena near Blackmoor Gate. Yeb was born in Haarlem in 1969 and began riding when he was 5 years old by jumping onto the backs of hunters grazing in the fields. By the age of 16, he had progressed into gymnastics, driving horses, hunting and dressage. He taught at the summer camps in Holland before arriving in England where he gained an Assistant Instructor’s exam after which he went onto the U.S.A. to teach at their summer camps. Yeb returned to the U.K. and trained show jumpers for breeders and meanwhile took the British Horse Society exam for Intermediate Training. These lessons will be highly personal as there will be a maximum of 4 per session and are aimed at established riders. You should be looking to improve your riding skills, must be able to provide your own horse and should be riding fit. Yeb specialises in young and more difficult horses as well as coaching up to 3-Day Event level. The dates (all Sundays) have now been confirmed as 14th November, 5th December, 9th and 16th January. On each of these dates, four 90-minute lessons are being held at approximately 10.00, 11.30, 13.00 and 14.30. The cost will be around £12.50 per person. Spectators are welcome as there is a viewing gallery, just turn up on the day! Our advice is bring a rug for your knees and a flask of coffee!
