Brushford Badminton gets Thumbs Up!

23rd August 2004

Brushford Badminton Club latest.

On Monday 16th August, Brushford Badminton Club was visited by James Elkin, the Badminton Development Officer for Somerset. The club has a thriving junior section, and James coached the young players in the basics of the game, before giving advice to the adult section that played after.

The children were very keen to learn, and it is hoped that this is the start of an ongoing programme that will see them improve rapidly.

The BDO was very impressed with the facilities, and the enthusiasm of all the club members - young and old. He said " it is great to see young players taking up the game of badminton, and with the help of the senior players, the club can progress and produce good players for the future."

Brushford Badminton Club was formed through the support of Active Exmoor and now members are trained as coaches after attending a course set up by Active Exmoor in November 2004.
