Active Exmoor is a sports tourism project focusing on supporting Exmoor's outdoor activity industry set up in 2003.
As well supporting local small businesses and event organisers and running this website we provide a regular e-news update to over 7,000 subscribers.
The project has delivered many initatives over the years including ex-Men, the Surf Bus, the OPTIC training scheme, EOAN & Exmoor Canoe Club, Exmoor Cycle Route and more recently the Exmoor Walking Festival and the Exmoor Perambulation.
Marketing and promotion of areas activities had been at the core of the project since 2006 and for the last three years we have produced a number of printed publications which can be seen here.
Over the years Mike, Dan and Rachel have all moved on but the website remains and was relaunched in July 2011! the website is now maintained again by Katrina (one of the original Active Exmoor staff) and Dave (her husband)
Dave has been involved with AE since its inseption all those years ago. He was one of the founder members with Mike and became chairman of Exmoor Canoe club. He has also worked in the outdoor industry for 20 years and runs his own Adventure Activities company "Active Adventure South West" here.
