28 Aug 11Blue Anchor Beach to Minehead annual raft race is now one of the biggest events of its type in the country.
The 32nd annual Minehead Lifeboat Raft Race in association with Butlins starts at 4.30pm from the Blue Anchor Beach to paddle the 4.5 miles to Minehead Harbour arriving at approximately 5.15pm.
The fun race starts at Minehead seafront at 4.45pm.
Craft stalls, samba band, live bands and disco on official RNLI stage with prizes awarded to all taking part at a ceremony on the quay early evening.
At 9:30pm spectators are treated to a spectacular firework display from Minehead harbour bringing the town’s biggest event to a fitting close.
