Wimbleball Lake - South West Lakes Trust

There are many miles of paths following the shorelines of lakes, meandering through woodland and onto open moorland. There’s also a wealth of wildlife to watch and discover so whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll, an active cycle ride or a more challenging walk whatever your ability there is something for everyone at the lake. The Angling and Watersports Centre is open for tuition in various activities including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and visitors can also launch their own craft or hire from the centre.

Wimbleball is also a premier trout fishery offering angling from the banks and also boats, there are often tution days for beginners and improvers further details are posted on our fishing pages. Permits are available on site and boats can be booked in advance.

The Centre also offers beginner and improver fly fishing tuition and has some pre-arranged days you are welcome to book in advance via the Centre. The land surrounding the lake offers miles of footpaths including a 9 mile round Lake walk. The tea-room, adjacent to the campsite offers an indoor retreat for light lunches, beverages and snacks whilst the play area is ideal for the younger ones to burn off some energy in the beautiful Exmoor countryside. A campsite overlooks the water and there is a tea-room offering a variety of refreshments.
